NEW RELEASE! Turning Into Song is a new album of music by six American composers set to the poems of Lucy Miller Murray. The album features fifteen world-premiere songs performed by David Shifrin on clarinet, mezzo-soprano Susannah Woodruff, and Yevgeny Yontov on piano. The project started in 2010 and lasted for over ten years until 2021. The album showcases the works of Jeremy Gill, Paul Moravec, Jake Heggie, Eugene Drucker, Michael Stephen Brown, and Richard Wilson. These composers have created musical interpretations of Murray's poetry from the 1960s to the present, offering an intriguing exploration of her work. Also performing on the album are violinist Eugene Drucker, cellist David Finckel, clarinetist Seunghee Lee, and baritone Mischa Bouvier.
